Successful applicants will support existing and future RSOC missions including, satellite command and control, safety of flight, and space traffic management.</p>\n<h3>The Role</h3>\n<p>Saber Astronautics is seeking qualified Spacecraft Operations Engineers to join their team for full-time positions in Adelaide, Australia.</p>\n<p><em>Please note, these roles do involve shift work which can include evenings, weekends and public holidays. This is not a standard '9-5 weekdays' role.</em></p>\n<p>The Spacecraft Operations Engineer is responsible for the daily running of spacecraft operations for a number of different missions. Customer missions range from Low Earth Orbit to GEO across a number of different mission profiles.</p>\n<p>As a Spacecraft Operations Engineer you will be a part of a core Space Operations team running out of the RSOC.</p>\n<h3>Typical day-to-day duties include:</h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Executing spacecraft mission procedures.</li>\n<li>Reviewing spacecraft telemetry and monitoring of the spacecraft health.</li>\n<li>Conducting safety of flight (processing Conjunction Data Messages CDM's) from 18th SPCS and taking required corrective actions.</li>\n<li>Understanding operational constraints and subsystem requirements of customer spacecraft.</li>\n<li>Contribute to new technologies, operational procedures, and software to advance the state of the art of spacecraft mission operations and autonomy.</li>\n<li>Monitoring the space environment and performing flight safety and pattern of life analysis of high interest space objects</li>\n<li>Assist in identifying product and process weaknesses and possible improvements in an environment of continual improvement</li>\n<li>Analyse system and production defects, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis</li>\n<li>Keep up to date with technical trends, tools and methodologies; undertake research as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Spacecraft Operations Engineers shall have a solid understanding of orbital mechanics and technical competency in one or more related areas of: spacecraft systems; avionics; embedded systems; robotics, translational/rotational mechanics; guidance, navigation and control; space environment physics; radio frequency; or another discipline relevant to spacecraft operations.</p>\n<h3>Required Attributes:</h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Australian, NZ, US, Canadian, or UK Citizenship (Due to the secure nature of the work, this is required for eligibility).</li>\n<li>Must be located in, or willing to relocate to Adelaide, South Australia</li>\n<li>Punctuality and willingness to perform shift work that can include evenings, weekends and public holidays</li>\n<li>Honesty, integrity, and objectivity, and the ability to instil these qualities in a team</li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, react, solve problems, obtain results, make effective decisions in a high pressure environment of live operations</li>\n<li>Strong mathematical skills and solid experience with complex algorithms</li>\n<li>Ability to adapt to changing expectations</li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team environment</li>\n<li>Detail-oriented</li>\n<li>Has the ability to remain composed and professional under demanding circumstances</li>\n<li>Intrinsically motivated, self-starter with a willingness to learn and grow</li>\n<li>Conducts self in an appropriate manner and values consistent with Saber Astronautics</li>\n<li>Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendors</li>\n<li>Willingness for occasional domestic and international travel</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Qualifications</h3>\n<p>A Bachelors or higher degree in aerospace, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, software, RF engineering; astrodynamics; or equivalent qualification.</p>\n<h3>Desirable:</h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience with spacecraft operations, or in the space or launch industry</li>\n<li>Working experience in spacecraft conceptual design or concurrent design</li>\n<li>Experience writing or managing Standard Operating Procedures</li>\n<li>Experience with shift work</li>\n<li>Programming experience in Python, Javascript, C/C++ or similar</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Apply via <a href=\"https://au.seek.com/job/93327820?ref=search-standalone&#x26;type=standard&#x26;origin=jobTitle#sol=a9e4496381fdc7e3ad6fc1f24eb7c7b700d67766\">Seek</a> with your:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover letter</li>\n<li>CV or Resumé</li>\n</ul>","parent":{"name":"spacecraft-operations-engineer"}},"site":{"siteMetadata":{"siteUrl":"https://www.saberastro.com"}}},"pageContext":{"id":"4ee4f984-f023-5118-baf4-d2557d15c2e7"}},
